Reading and pondering upon the Quran sharpens the intellect and broadens the mind’s horizons.
It sharpens your intellect because it engraves into your mind the deficiency of the fallacious reasoning employed by many of the kuffar, which drives you to avoid committing the same. The Qur’an also regularly emphasizes to the reader the importance of pursuing the truth and resisting any underlying desires that may impede that endeavor. Thus, it continuously motivates its reader to curb any emotions seeking to muddle his truth-seeking quest.
It expands the mind’s horizons because, despite living in a distractions-filled world, it consistently prods it to reflect upon some of the most profound and relevant matters pertaining to ethics, our social relationships with others, and, ultimately, our very own existence.
The best way for a Muslim to harness his logical skills and correctly ponder upon life's ultimate questions is not to enroll in some philosophy course but rather to first and foremost regularly read the Qur’an and contemplate its teachings.
