Controversial Du’at Are but a Small Sample

Do you know how some of those ‘famous’ du’at and scholars out there periodically get subject to criticism and controversy?

Do not forget that these individuals do not even amount to 0.1% of the du’at and scholars of the world.

Do not think that they are some representative sample of the quality of du’at and scholars in the Ummah; they are not.

Likewise, do not think that people who criticize these particular individuals are somehow, consequently, critical of scholars and du’at in general; they are not.

It is very easy for the layman whose study of Islam is primarily restricted to listening to easygoing youtube lectures on the subway and driving to work to think that this small sample is the Ummah’s scholarship. 

Rejoice, it is not.
