Don’t Always Judge a Scholar by His Students
Do not always judge a scholar by his students. Unfortunately, it is not rare to find students who go against many of the essential principles they learned from their teachers and exhibit poor character their teachers are free of.
Sure, I have observed a few cases where students actually mimic their teachers in poor character and behavior, but these are the exceptions to the rule.
The truth is that many of these ill-mannered and unorthodox “Shuyookh, Muftis, Professors,” etc., who like to flaunt their academic credentials and Ijazas have betrayed the trust of their institutions and teachers. Many of these very same people would not dare behave the way they do or even utter some of their opinions if they knew their teachers were observing.
However, they do not worry most of the time, since their teachers are likely too busy teaching students in a remote village somewhere, for watching youtube lectures and following Facebook posts of their previous students would be the last thing on their mind.
