Ibn Hajar states in his Lisaan al-Meezan concerning Imam Fakhr ad-Deen ar-Razi, who is arguably the most prominent and influential theologian in the Ash’ari school:
"He was highly intelligent and knowledgeable in the intellectual sciences, yet devoid of [using] narrations. He expressed doubts on some pillars of the deen, which leads to confusion. We ask Allah to strengthen Iman in our hearts. He authored al-Sirr al-Maktum fi Mukhatabat al-Nujum, which contains explicit magic. By Allah’s will, it is hoped that he repented from writing it.”
Magic! When we said Ibn Taymiyyah also mentioned about it, the Kalami's lost it!
