Many Muslims love to keep cursing the Jews. They love to involve them in all the conspiracy theories (some real, many bogus) of the world. They love to blame them for all of the ills of the Ummah. Yet, for some odd reason, many of these Muslims do not learn from the mistakes of the Jews highlighted in the Qur’an.
We read Surat al-Baqarah and other Surahs and yet do not derive and accordingly apply the lessons that should have been learned. On the contrary, many of us appear to emulate a number of their negative and sinful traits.
Just as the Jews appealed to “Maslaha” and found a clever way to circumvent the law regarding the Sabbath, many Muslims could be very creative bypassing the dictates of Allah.
Just as the Jews abandoned promoting the good and forbidding the evil, many Muslims similarly call for its abandonment.
Just like the Jews in the story of the calf, many Muslims dive into tertiary details of the religion and make Islam more difficult to practice.
Just as the Jews engaged in exegetical and textual corruption of their scriptures, we have many Muslims who adopt deviant interpretations of the Qur’an and reject many Saheeh ahaadeeth which they do not like.
And so on.
Many Muslims have adopted some of the worst traits of the Jews which the Qur’an clearly warned against, yet continue to curse the Jews day and night. How foolish is this?
Many of us really need to engage in some serious self-introspection and actually assess the coherence and harmony of our beliefs, speech, and actions.
