Muslim Parents Deferring Blame to Others
Some parents neglect the Islamic upbringing of their children for years, and then when their children become young adults, they expect the Imam at the masjid to undo the damage they have done to their children in one sitting. So basically, the Imam is expected to do some magical wonders in 30 minutes and undo the damage of 18 years of poor upbringing. When their children scoff at the Imam’s attempts to help them out, the parents have the audacity to blame the Imams and scholars of the Ummah for “failing to connect with the youth.”
Is deferring the blame we deserve for our faults to others going to solve anything?
