Similarity in Method vs. Similarity in Opinion
Ahmad and Khaled share the same opinion together about a subject, and they both disagree with Sami. However, that does not necessarily mean that Ahmad and Khaled are more similar to each other than any one of them is to Sami. It is possible that Ahmad and Sami share the same methodology and foundational principles upon which they base their thinking, but just so happened to differ in their application on this particular subject. Meanwhile, Khaled has a methodology completely different from Ahmad, but he coincidentally just happened to reach the same opinion as Ahmad on this particular subject.
In summary, it is very important to ultimately judge a person not only and merely by his final opinions but by the presuppositions and premises which form the basis of the foundation out of which his opinions emanate. In fact, that is the more critical comparison to make.
