For over 15 years and counting, whenever I am asked about books on aqeedah, I recommend Dr. Umar Sulayman al-Ashqar’s (may Allah have mercy on him) eight-volume Islamic Creed Series. They are available online as pdfs over here for people who wish to check them out prior to purchasing them.
I believe this series will provide one with a solid theological grounding in Islamic theology on essential themes. This book series is good for an intermediate aqeedah student but still digestible by a beginner who craves reading and is interested in the subject matter.
Salam, does this series touch upon objections regarding Allah’s attributes? Such as objections the asharis raise like Allah’s hand, shin, etc. and objections Christians raise like whether the attributes are identical to the essence or not, etc.
