Do not assume that simply taking a course on logic would make you avoid committing logical fallacies. Personal biases guided by subconscious insincerity will ultimately cause one to lapse into devising poorly constructed arguments, including logically fallacious ones. A driven determination to truth-seeking is one of the fundamental requisites for exercising sound reason. Falling short in this is a reason why you observe some of the most (supposedly) “brilliant rationalists” of our time being guilty of engaging in glaring double standards and offering arguments whose critical premises they have never bothered to substantiate.
