The Unjust Foolishness of Religious Pluralism
How foolish and arrogant could a religious pluralist be by placing all religions on the same pedestal?
Think of Islam with all its features:
- The Qur’an and all the features which make it an extraordinary scripture
- The comprehensive way of life Islam espouses (from its teachings fulfilling spiritual upliftment to practical solutions in the political realm)
- Its extremely impressive scholarly heritage
- Its civilization’s advanced and impressive scientific, philosophical, and epistemological contributions in several domains and spheres
And so on.
Contrast that with something like Jainism or Bahaism or some tribal religion in a forest somewhere.
You do not have to be a Muslim to observe that some religions are at least superior to others; more worthy of consideration than others; more likely to be true than others; more worthy of respect than others. And so on.
It is baseless to say they are all equally beautiful and valid in “their own kind of way.”
Sometimes by treating things “equally,” we could be highly unfair.
